Dawn grew up swimming, participating in various water sports, lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons. She has successfully taught babies to adults how to swim and be safe in and around the water for 45+ years with the American Red Cross.
She holds a degree in Exercise Science w/Aquatics, Cardiac Rehab and Adaptive Aquatics Emphasis
from the Minnesota State University -Mankato. Her internship in Corporate Wellness was at St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center and after college started Partners in Fitness
a personal training and fitness business.
She went on to work at the Northwest Racquet, Swim and Health Clubs as a personal trainer,
fitness and aquatic instructor and manager. Promotion to aquatic director provided Dawn
the opportunity to manage eight facilities with pools and train all group exercise instructors
(land and water) for the entire 13 club chain.
After moving to Kingwood, Texas in 1993 she was able to continue teaching and directing aquatics
at the Kingwood Athletic Club for 17 years. The Aquatic Department at KAC was known for developing and providing quality aquatic and homeschool programs for the entire North East Houston area in addition to providing Aquatic Exercise Association CEC events for South East Texas.
She also had the privilege of being a CEC provider for the Aquatic Exercise Association
for several years traveling and training instructors from all around the world.
She has coached various sports from grade school to college, trained elite athletes,
taught special needs children, volunteered with the Arthritis Foundation and coached or officiated
for summer league, high school and USA swim teams. Her greatest achievement has was raising five great children who were active in various sports and activities at school and church.
She now has the glorious honor of pouring into her grandchildren,
watching them grow up and enjoy all that life has to offer.
Helping every child and adult reach their potential regardless of their skills or abilities is very fulfilling.
It is a joy to see success (no matter how small or large) attained by every participant. Leading and training co-workers from Minnesota and Texas to develop professionally and reach their goals has been rewarding. She founded Aquatic Solutions Cooperative in order to continue to provide the community with "positive programming on the cutting edge of the aquatic industry" taught by experienced
aquatic professionals who display integrity, honesty and compassion.
